“I happen to be painting a very large bruise”

The title for this blog post is a little strange at first glance. The title was from a comic strip, Big Nate. He was hogging the reds and the blues and when Mr. Rosa, the art teacher, came and saw, he said “I happen to be painting a very large bruise”, so that’s where the title came from, and that’s also the inspiration for the painting. I did purple first, because that’s the main color of a bruise, with some red spots for detail, and a little cut. Then I did blue because that’s a color similar to purple on the color wheel. Then I did a light green, just for like, grass stains or something like that, I don’t really know what. Then I did a coral orange peachy color because it’s close to yellow. Yellow is because the outside of a bruise often turns a yellowy color. I don’t know if it should be called an abstract or partial abstract, or what, but I actually kind of like it.
